Applied Design: Creating Harmony in a Home Using a Single Color

One of the reasons I chose this particular Phoebe Howard room was because of the beautiful way it fit into the design of the rest of the house.  Any easy way to create harmony in a home is to carry a color throughout the home.  The color palette for the Room of the Week consists of mostly shades of brown, which are carried throughout the house.  Let’s take a look!

I’ve tried to follow this design principle in my own home.  I live in a townhome that has many small rooms instead of larger open rooms, so I use the color green throughout to keep my designs cohesive and create harmony.  I snapped a few photos from around my home…you can see that it just takes a touch of the color in each room!
