Color Palette: White & Warm Wood

White kitchens are very popular right now (and have been for a while) because they appear clean, crisp, and timeless.  But without something to warm up the white you are left with a lifeless space.  There are many ways to bring warmth to an all-white kitchen like using accessories and textiles, but i want to focus on using wood.

The kitchen that is the Room of the Week is mostly white.  The walls, cabinets, backsplash, countertops and chairs are all white.  And there are stainless steel or chrome accents throughout.  If those were the only two colors this kitchen would feel very sterile and cold.  However, there are wood tones placed throughout the kitchen that really warms up all that white.  The island, built-in breakfast nook, and matching bookshelves are crafted from bamboo, and the floor is also wood.

You’re most likely not ready to make a big change in your kitchen, like adding a built-in or an island, but maybe you could add a piece of art in a wood frame, a new light, or even a wood counter top.  Here are a few ideas.
