The ceiling-height backsplash in the Room of the Week is a beautiful patterned tile. It creates a strong, and stunning, focal point in the room.
A full wall of tile can be a beautiful way to create a focal point, add color, pattern and texture to your space, and create a clean-able backdrop for cooking…though it will cost more of course! Here are several beautiful examples and some questions to think about when you look at them:
- How does the tile meet the ceiling? Directly? Or is there molding?
- Is the tile adding color, pattern or texture? Or all 3?
- How does the tile enhance the kitchen cabinets? Windows?
- How does the create or add to the style of the kitchen? Does it make it more modern, traditional, country, eclectic?
