Applied Design: Organizing Space

One of the great things about the Room of the Week is the way the space, though small, has distinct areas for different activities (a lounge area and a dining space).   If each area wasn’t organized well it would seem like a jumble of furniture.   The furniture that makes up the lounge area is pulled together by the rug. and the vase on the dining table creates a mini-focal point that helps to organize the dining space.

You can use rugs, lighting, and furniture to help organize a space…here are some examples:
