In my last backyard patio update my dining chairs didn’t have any seats. But, thanks to my talented father-in-law they do now! I took one of the chairs with me on my trip to my in-laws last week (yes, my husband thought I was nuts for carting a chair across half the United States), and my father-in-law helped me create these slatted wooden seats that I’ve had in my head for so long.
They were fairly inexpensive, just slats of cedar wood cut to the shape of the chair, stained and varnished, and then screwed directly onto the metal chair. It wasn’t the easiest or quickest project, but I’m super happy with the results. I love the shiny black metal combined with the wood.
What do you think?
I also added some plants (succulents, a fern and a philodendron) to my empty pots, hung a lantern from my tree (still need some battery-operated lights for it), and hung up this awesome rope plant hanger from Urban Tastes…an awesome online vintage housewares shop.
