Design is in the Details: Creating a Shadowbox

I love all the accessories on the shelves in the Room of the Week.  They give you a good sense of the person who lives there.  One of my favorite things is the little shadowbox with the stuffed animal inside…see it right there on the middle shelf?

shadowbox copyI’d like to imagine it’s a favorite stuffed animal from childhood or a special gift from a loved one.  Kids are always attached to their “stuff” even after they’ve outgrown it.  A little shadowbox could be the perfect way to include past toys, collections, travel mementos, and other memorabilia into a grown-up room.
