Fall Trends 2013: A Black, White & Wood Color Palette

I’m mixing things up this week and not doing my regular Room of the Week postings. Instead, I am going to focus on trends for Fall this year.  I’ve been combing catalogs and magazines and blogs to find 5 top trends to share this week.

The first trend is a color palette idea…Black, White & Wood.  I’ve seen this color palette for years in Scandinavian and European homes, and I love that it’s becoming a trend just in time for Fall.  It creates a really nice, simple backdrop for cozy Fall colors.  There are tons of blog posts chronicling this trend already…my favorites are from The Interior CollectiveThe Style Files, the Kitchn, The City Sage, My Scandinavian Home, Escapade, DecorDots, and Emily McCall.  See…I told you it was popular!

Just because it’s trendy(maybe especially because it’s a trend) doesn’t mean you are going to paint your walls white, buy new wood furniture and black accessories.  But, there are simple ways to incorporate the trend into your home this season.
