Fall Trends 2013: Task Lighting

I remember the first time I saw the industrial task table lamp from West Elm.  I’d seen versions of this type of task lamp before, but they were either really expensive new or vintage options. I loved the vintage/industrial shape and the multiple finishes.  And, now you can find these table lamps everywhere.

And, recently the trend has moved to the wall…there are lots of options for wall-mounted task lamps (or swing-arm, pivoting…whatever you want to call it).  Here are some of my favorites in a variety of price points and styles.

And, I have a few task lamps around my house. I especially love the wall-mounted lamps by my bed…really cuts down on the number of lamps my little boys can knock over and break!

Do you have a task lamp? Want one?  Where would you put one?

  1. LOL! “cuts down on knock overs & breaks” here! hear! I have an empty bulkhead just appearing useless above our kitchen sink. Not once did I think: lighting! Especially since the least of my personal favs is ‘overhead lighting sources’. I prefer a hundred lamps to light a room;)
We are even in the midst of our own renovation completions and this is an inspirational piece. Thank You! –J9;)
