Applied Design: How to create the perfect relaxation spot using only 3 things

The Room of the Week doesn’t look very large, yet Furbish Studio was able to create a separate seating area in the room using only three pieces of furniture.  I love how the shape of the sofa and the table mirror each other, and the round rug underfoot helps to define the little area.

No matter the size of your bedroom or your style you can recreate your own little relaxation spot. I put together some little scenarios to hopefully inspire you in your own home.

When you are looking at the scenarios I put together and thinking about your own room consider ways to unify and define the space so it feels cohesive and serene.  I used color and shape as tools to create unity, and I love the round rugs that help to instantly define space.

Do you have a seating area in your room?  I’ve got the beginnings of one with just a chair, and the Room of the Week has definitely inspired me to find a table and rug to complete the look.
