As my family has grown I’ve realized that I’m happiest with my home when the items in it are both pretty AND easy to maintain. This mix of form and function is especially beneficial in transition spaces, like hallways. A hallway is usually a high-traffic area that gets lots of use and heavy wear. But, it’s not a place you want to spend large amounts of money decorating or large amounts of time maintaining. The Room of the Week hallway provides a few tricks for creating a hardworking hallway that is both pretty and functional.
There are many beautiful details to love about this stretch of hallway, but it’s the details that help it function the best that I love most. The naturally stain-resistant flooring, neutral walls, ample lighting, and patterned textiles all keep this hallway looking fresh, without hours of maintenance.
