Adding Iconic Mid-century Furniture

It’s no secret that I love mid-century style furniture…along with the rest of America.  It’s risen in popularity in the last 10 years and I don’t see that trend dying off anytime soon.  I particularly love mid-century style furniture when it’s mixed with pieces from other styles and eras.  Those famous pieces of furniture from the last century are still looking fresh and easily coordinate with almost any style today.

Ashley of Hither & Thither, the owner and designer of the Room of the Week is particularly good at this mix.  I love the way she mixed iconic mid-century pieces that suit the era and style of her home, with more modern lighting fixtures and pieces of furniture.

While mid-century furniture can be quite expensive, there are more and more look-a-like options available, so you can add those pretty shapes and lines without breaking your budget.  Here are some options if you are shopping!
