How To Create A Perfectly Textured Room

Even though there isn’t a lot of pattern or color in the Room of the Week(minus those fantastic blue chairs) the room looks interesting and layered because of all the contrasting textures juxtaposed next to each other.  When contrasting textures are place near each other the differences highlight the strengths of each piece so they both shine. For example, let’s take a closer look at the vignette on the coffee table.

The three textures on this table make the perfect combination together.  Wood grain + smooth glass + woven basket = the perfect vignette.

When you’re designing your own space consider adding three contrasting textures to your design.  Here are a few scenarios to show you how it works.
