The Perfect Focal Point: A Gray Kitchen Island

The gray kitchen island/white perimeter kitchen cabinet combo has definitely been a trend in kitchen design in the last decade or so.  And for good reason. Painting the kitchen island gray creates instant contrast in a white kitchen, but isn’t too jarring or bold.  It sets the island as the focal point in the room while remaining neutral.

The shape and color and unique hardware of this island in the Room of the Week (above) make it a really special focal point in the room.  This technique can be used in almost any kitchen, no matter what style…take a look!

Anyone already have this color combo in their kitchen?  If you do, I’d love to know what you think about it!
