I recently helped a client pick out paint colors for her new home. She has a really fun, busy family and wanted the colors to reflect that. We picked out bright, cheerful colors throughout the home, mixed with a nice neutral gray. Usually clients have to be talked into such bold colors, so it was fun to have her desire and embrace such bright choices.
Just a few tips if you are looking to implement similar bold paint choices in your house:
1. Consider using a neutral color for main living areas, and bolder choices for rooms that are more closed off, like the dining room and playroom here.
2. If you love a darker bolder color, but worry about it being too overwhelming consider using it sparingly….like the blue on the kitchen island here.
3. If you want a bold accent color in a room, choose a softer version of that color for the walls and add in more saturated accessories in smaller doses. Think of the softer color as setting the stage to support the stronger version of that color.
I hope you enjoy this peek into my clients home and feel inspired to add cheerful colors to yours!
