A Plan for an Eclectic Office Makeover

One of my favorite things about my new rental house is the small dedicated office space.  It’s a teeny room with the big job of being both my office and our music room.   And even though it’s not decorated or designed really yet, I already love it!

But, it started off as a cave.  A very red cave, red ceiling included.

office1It took a coat of primer on both the walls and ceiling and several coats of white ceiling paint to get the ceiling nice and bright!  Already, so much better, right!  office2I knew I wanted a stronger saturated color to make this a cozy room.  I settled on a jade-y green color (Sherwin Williams Jadite).

office3I love the how pretty the wood looks against the new green color, and I can’t wait to add in pretty art and accessories, and I have some fun DIY projects in the works for this space as well! office4It’s hard to capture the exact color because of the lighting and size of the room, but in the morning light, it’s closest to the image below.office5I’ll be working over the next two weeks to get my office in shape, so I can use it to get stuff done!  Here’s a peek at the direction I am headed!

An Eclectic Office Color Palette | www.theanatomyofdesign.comI’m definitely going to add a white desk to contrast with the dark green…but I haven’t decided how yet. I’ve been scouring Pinterest for some way to create a DIY desk (potentially just using the same legs I already own)…if you have any ideas, I would love to know.  I’ll be sharing some projects as I get the room pulled together!
