Try this Color Palette: Gray, Cream, Blue & Red

The Room of the Week has such a pretty color palette.  Mostly neutral gray and cream tones, but jazzed up with those deep reds and blues.  The red/blue combo is unusual and combines those hot and cool colors in a beautiful way! I’m a die-hard orange and blue fan, but this room has definitely won me over to new ideas!

And, the great thing about this color palette is that it is very versatile and can suit almost any style. Here are 8 different style scenarios to inspire you.

21 Black Wall Sconces

One of my favorite little details in the Room of the Week is the pair of lamps at each side of the bed.

While it’s not the most economical or practical solution to have that many lamps in a bedroom it is a fun artistic idea, especially when the lamps are so sculptural.  I love the way the black wall lamps look a little more modern and the table lamps are more traditional.  Those black wall sconces are like a little exclamation point in the room helping to make the bed the focal point of the room.

And, right now little black sconces are everywhere.  Here are 21 black wall sconces to suit almost any style!

ablacksconce copyIt’s hard for me to choose a favorite, I can imagine using all of these in a project.  But, I think a pair of those brass and blue beauties (#15) from the shop Triple Seven Home are gonna make their way to my home soon!  Have a favorite?

The Master Bedroom from “The Intern” Movie

The images from the set of Nancy Myers new movie, The Intern, have been showing up everywhere.  And for good reason…her set design is as famous as her screenplays everyone loves.  When, I first saw the master bedroom for the main character in the movie I couldn’t stop looking at it.  It’s luxurious, but not overdone, and colorful, but calming, and it’s comfortable but chic.

Here are 5 take away lessons I got from studying the room!
